Art in Public Places Program
Art in Public Places is uniquely positioned to advance and support art and artists across Washington. Our goal is to build and care for a State Art Collection that is impactful, accessible, and valued. We seek lasting artworks that reflect Washington’s diverse communities.
Our current public art opportunities are listed below.

Please read the complete guidelines before you apply. The Curator Roster is our list of people available to research and suggest artworks for the State Art Collection. We hire curators to help us choose artwork for public buildings or campuses. Our goal when working with curators is to create intentional, ideas-driven collections of artworks that include diverse artists and perspectives. Curators find and suggest artworks based on the local committee’s goals and budget. We partner with Washington’s public schools, colleges, universities, and state agencies.
